Stained Glass Workshop (6 Weeks)

Description

Based at our stained glass studio in Wavertree, Liverpool. Sessions will run from 6-8pm on Wednesday evenings with a maximum number of 5 participants to ensure that each student is supported.

You’ll be given a blank template to design your own creation on, your glass instructor will be on hand at all times to ensure that your design is suitable for glasswork and each student will benefit from a bespoke 1:1 design consultation. 

Before diving into designing and creating your larger piece you will practice on smaller pieces. This will allow you to gain relevant skills to tackle a bigger project – throwing you straight in at the deep end with a bigger glass piece would be mean! 

Your piece will comprise use of the copper foiling technique with a lead came border if applicable. This is NOT a solely lead workshop. Lead came will only be implemented if the structure of the design requires it.

 

Please Note:

This is a fun and educational course aimed at first time glasswork students or those with basic glass experience. This is not a vocational or accredited course.

Detailed health & safety guides and precautions will be taught throughout the day and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided along with all materials. 

No previous stained glass experience is necessary for this particular workshop. 

A maximum of 5 participants per workshop. This ensures that each individual receives adequate support from the tutor throughout the session. 

In the Autumn and Winter months the studio is cooler so wearing layers is recommended. Heaters are on but you might feel the cold easily – your glass instructor does!

Please only book if you can attend all 6 sessions. We cannot swap dates as this is the only 6 week workshop we are currently running and each week follows on from the next. Refunds cannot be given for missed sessions.

Further Information: 

• Due to the use of lead and chemicals involved in this workshop we are unfortunately unable to accommodate pregnant women. 
• We have a no smoking policy onsite. 
• No alcohol can be consumed on the premises or during workshop breaks. Treat yourself to something with bubbles later to celebrate what you’ve created. 
• Please wear comfortable clothing (the older the better as you will be working with chemicals), suitable footwear such as boots or trainers (no open toed footwear), and bring a hair tie to safely secure your hair back. During the Autumn and Winter we recommend wearing layers. 
• If you wear glasses for reading then please bring them.
• We are on the ground floor but our bathroom is not fully accessible.

 

What is included in the workshop fees? 

Use of all equipment, materials & tuition needed to hand make your own stained glass pieces.

Gloves, safety mask, goggles and apron are also provided.   

Complimentary tea, coffee, juice, bottled water and biscuits are provided throughout the session. 

 

 

Cancellation policy: Cancellation and a full refund (minus an admin fee of £35 per person) can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Cancellation and a 50% refund (plus an admin fee of £35 per person) can be obtained up to a week before the course starts. No refunds available for cancellations that are less than a week to the course start date.
